Varengeville-sur-mer: The Secret Beach

The deserted golden sandy beach at Varengeville-sur-mer

Just a few kilometers outside Dieppe, and a ten minute drive from Camping La Source is one of the areas best-kept secrets; a vast flat golden sandy beach with rockpools and scenery to die for.

The thing is that it's so difficult to find, you'd almost imagine the wealthy residents who own the multi-milion euro properties that dot the area around Varengville wanted to dissuade visitors and keep it for themselves. Particularly when you accidentally spot one of the minuscule  faded and overgrown "La Mer" signs that more jaded blogs might suppose were deliberately poorly-maintained to keep the riff-raff disorientated.

Minuscule, faded 'sign'. In a bush.
...digitally enhanced using specialist CSI-type software; MS Paint.
In the interests of egalite, Dieppeblog has helpfully prepared a guide on how to find this hidden gem, until such times as the local council can afford to put proper signs up.
